SHORT TERM GOALS vs LONG TERM GOALS

Hola!

So I had a pretty awesome class last night with matt and the girls =)
It was my official day one towards my new short-term goal. That goal being: looking cute and feeling good about myself on Halloween. This is important to me because I was about 35lbs heavier a year ago on Halloween, and felt like total crap watching my friends have fun, while I moped around like an unsocial fat-ass. <---yes i just called myself that Oh yeah, and watching a bunch of random girls in skanky costumes hit on my boyfriend wasn't that fun either!!!

Anyway, it's a night for dressing up, having fun and taking pictures for memories...not moping around and settling for "whatever fits". I have a few weeks to meet my new short-term goal, and I know that with the bootcamp classes + eating clean and a POSITIVE MENTALITY, I will achieve this goal!

Short term goals are really important because they are achievable within a shorter period of time, and are more realistic. Let me use an example: I can use one of the following to fuel, and visualize potential success:

A) "In a few weeks, on Halloween, my goal is to lose one dress size"

OR

B) "In 8 months I want to look like a bikini model"

Ok, really? We've all had goal B pop into our heads. Did we succeed? Unless you only dedicated  yourself to that ONE thing every waking moment, popped a bunch of pills, starved yourself, and occasionally binged on 7 layer nachos and ice cream cake cause you were so psycho from denying yourself SOLID food all in the name of becoming an exotic bikini model by your birthday...then YOU DID NOT SUCCEED. And by succeed I mean you didn't pack on DOUBLE what you had lost the minute you ate a sandwich in your awesome bikini.

Option A is a better goal. Not only is it a HEALTHY goal, but you get to achieve it in a shorter period of time! Now, don't get all crazy and twist my words around by trying to set a short term goal of becoming that bikini model! Keep it healthy, keep it realistic. Those two go hand-in-hand.
Keeping these short term goals will benefit your self-esteem, can help with keeping cellulite and stretch marks AWAY! (from my experience) And, will teach you how to really appreciate YOURSELF and the hard work YOU put into achieving each goal. Oh yeah, and NOT STARVING YOURSELF +OVER-EXERCISING are always a major plus for you and the people in your life because you won't become a CRAZY BEAST-WOMAN!

So set a short-term goal! And watch how amazing it feels to reward yourself with achievement more often =)

Post your goals, share comments etc...
