This fly going around is a VERY NASTY one. I felt a little ill about 2 weeks ago. At first it was a headache, dizziness, sore throat (no cough), and feeling really really sluggish. Then it went away the second week. And out of NOWHERE, on wed night this last week I began feeling realllly sick. Fever, chills, coughing non-stop,clogged up sinuses , headache, body ache, eventually lost my voice, couldnt sleep, just couldnt do anything really. I have yet to get my voice back up 100%, and the cough is still lingering today. I feel a little better, but i know i will have to live with this thing longer if i don't rest today/tonight. I feel MISERABLE. I feel like i've gained 20983483498 pounds already =( Being sick + PMS is not a good combo, A VERY BAD ONE INDEED! The minute my ass is up tomorrow i am going to make up for lost time!
Anyway, keep warm, and stay away from sick people...you DON't WANT TO CATCH THIS!

MOTIVATION MONDAY!!!!
Man, Monday couldn't come quick enough!
I had a very ass-kicky awesome workout on Friday night's bootcamp (www.fitmommybootcamp.com) with Matt. I swear you people better have a good reason for not showing up and leaving me to the demise of Matt. Lol, i liked it though, he made it a little tougher and i played my own music =)
SO guess what!?!? My new raw-vegan-low-fat lifestlye in the form of mostly JUICING and SMOOTHIES is having an AMAZING affect on me. Im getting smaller! It takes A LOT for me to notice any physical changes on my very short, endomorphic figure but im noticing!
The combination of this + bootcamp sesssions is really paying off. In fact, i have so much energy now that i wish bootcamp was an every day thing....even 2 times every day!! id do it!
Let me tell you though, this is a very difficult transition mentally if you have always struggled with food addiction, eating disorder(s) etc... This will definitely test your readiness through temptation and will power. I slipped once within the last few weeks but i felt like CRAP after and realized it wasnt even worth the slip! My body LOVES the nutrients it's getting and the natural energy it comes with. I'm also finding it easier to control my emotions. I do find that at times i get vulnerable and the neediness slowly creeping up on me but I recognize it and switch it!
Exercise is my new drug, the music provokes it and the nutrients in my body fuel it.

PATIENCE PAYS OFF
Hello, and good evening!
Ok, there is NOTHING more frustrating than when you feel like DAMN! im looking good these days, but why the HELL won't my fat face catch up to the rest of my body's shrinkage?! Or, wow this dress totalllly fits me now, BUT WTF, it would look PERFECT if my dumbass jumbo hips would go away already!!
IT PISSES ME OFF LIKE YOU WILL NEVER WANT TO KNOW!!! UGHHGHHGHHHH!!!!!!
...anyway...
I know I know, i just have to chillax and remember that it is IMPOSSIBLE to "spot reduce". In other words we can't just say hmmm i just wanna burn fat in this particular area, and leave the rest of my regions as is. It's a total body process and let's face it, exercise isn't ENOUGH.
I heard someone once say, "a six pack isn't made in the gym, it's made in the kitchen". This is true. So eating a box of bon bon's every day and "making up for it" with 3 hours of cardio isnt going to get you looking hotpants ready. I mean, if your gonna put CRAP in your body, you're gonna get CRAPPY results.
Genetics can be a beyotch. In my case, I have these LOVELY cheeks my father blessed me with, and even in my earlier days when i'd starve myself those damn things wouldnt go ANYWHERE!!! That's life, embrace the cheeks! It could be worse! lol
Exercise: You gotta make sure you're getting your fat burning super-awesome workouts in! I do;) Every mon,wed and fri I'm getting my butt handed to me in a good way at FMBC (www.fitmommybootcamp.com). The interval training approach to these workouts is amazing. You instantly feel "the burn", and it shows in mirror with quicker results than in any other type of training i've done. Also, on the days I'm not going to bootcamp, I follow the tips for interval training at home I learned from trainer Matt. These workouts come with your membership at www.fitmommybootcamp.com <-----
PATIENCE! Be patient and keep on going! If you stop the hard work and dedication you've been putting in because of frustration, then you are bound to screw yourself over! SHow those stubborn hips who's boss! YOU WILL CONQUER THE SADDLEBAGS!!!! Patience...is a virtue.
SO, im not gonna be pissed off anymore about my cheeks, and im gonna stick around to see my stubborn hips melt away as i slowly kick their ass into outer space! =)

RECIPE POST!
This will be my first recipe post =)
I will try to incorporate the lean protein, not always raw or vegan yet healthy option as well as the raw-vegan option for most of the recipes I post. This will be possible because since I have taken over as my family's "mom" especially in the kitchen after my moms surgeries, I must provide them with some source of meat, poultry or fish because well...this is what they want. I on the other hand, have taken on a new way of living. The raw-vegan lifestyle. And I you will learn how it's working out for me along with my F.M. Bootcamp classes! =)
let's get this started...
HUMMUmakeYOUsweat HUMMUS RECIPE:
2 cups (give or take) raw (soaked and drained) Garbanzo Beans/Chickpeas
2.5 tablespoons of Olive Oil
3 tablespoons of Lemon juice
1 large Garlic Clove cut in thirds
1 Handful of sliced/crushed almonds
A PINCH of Cayenne Pepper and/or Tablespoon of (tapatio, cholula, valentino any REAL hot sauce) THIS STEP IS OPTIONAL - i like it reallly spicy
Ground Pepper (add to your liking)
Organic Sea Salt (add to your liking..but NOT TOO MUCH!)
Throw it all in a food processor or anything you may have that can get the job done
Once its smooth with some consistency...refrigerate for at least 10 min and EATTT IT!
This is a great substitute for all those FATTY and GREASY dressings and dips.
Pic 1 (Vegan-Raw Option with Crushed Almonds & Cayenne Pepper Garnishing)

Pic 2 (Veggie-Raw Option with Jalapeno Jack Cheese Garnishing)RECIPE 2: I'm bringing ZESTY back - Zesty Sexy Waist Friendly Salad =) yeah, i said sexy
Ingredients:
Small Handful of Cooked, shredded boneless salmon ( i used Trader Joe's 'simply wild pacific salmon')
1.5 Cups of Baby Romaine Lettuce
Pinch of Ground Pepper
Pinch of Cayenne Pepper
2 Cherry Tomato's
4 Slices of Avocado (or more if you want)
1 Lemon
Optional (Hummus, and/or Cholula hot sauce)
DO this:
Cut cherry tomato's into FOURS (each of the 2)
Cut out your avocado slices
Grab your handful of salmon
THROW EM ALL ON THE LETTUCE
Squeeze the lemon onto the salad evenly, add your cayenne and black pepper
Throw a spoonful of Hummus on there, add your hot sauce if you wish, and VOILA! a HEALTHY salad!
if you want it RAW-VEGAN FRIENDLY...keep out the salmon! =)
In for the KILL
Good EVENING.
Whoa whoa whoa, I still feel kinda "high" from my bootcamp class today!
Man, I've been on hiatus for a solid week now, maybe even more. Life sucks sometimes, even though you try so damn hard to be positive, sometimes, WE ARE HUMAN...and we turn into hermits that eat salty foods and cry a lot ok!
Anyway, I have to say THANK YOU and xoxo's to Priscilla from F.M.Bootcamp. She's the cutest little button and the youngest of us bootcamp girls and has been SUPER supportive and sweet through these douchey times =) Thanks Priscilla. Oh and OFF COURSE, Mr. Fit Mommy Bootcamp himself, the greatest trainer on earth...Matt=)
I swear, there are NO trainers/nutrition guru's/human being's like him really people, tell that douche trainer with the steriodized arms and oompa loompa tan and napoleon complex to hit the road and get yourself some Matt Holmes in your life! Check him out at www.fitmommybootcamp.com and http://www.yelp.com/biz/fit-mommy-bootcamp-burbank.
Anyway HE WAS RIGHT! I've been all kinds of crappy, and recession-y and PMS-y and all the good fun awesome-y's. He emailed me asking where the hell I've been..and i was like i suck blah blah ill be there "soon". And he said, "YOU WILL FEEL A LOT BETTER IF YOU GET INTO CLASS". So simple right, but by gosh..it was such an understatement!
I FEEL SOOO RAAAD! I feel re-energized, I feel re-motivated! Even with the PMS! I will be there so ready for ass kicking and new goal reaching on WED at 6pm!!! That white dress will be CONQUERED so hard it doesn't even know it!
Oh, and one last thing... WELCOME to Fit Mommy Bootcamp's latest addition...KAREN =) hugs and welcomes and all that good stuff! I hope you love FMbootcamp as much as I do! =)

LINDA 2010
So today is a not so fun day.
Before i get into that, i will have you know i reached my short-term goal for Halloween, applause and pat on the back for that.
But, I also had a big time wake up call the day after which was yesterday. I am not putting 100% into my life. I am not "happy". Yes, i just got really personal.
I have always struggled with things like acceptance issues and neediness, body-image issues that have led to several very dysfunctional dietary behaviors, and have sought out help with alcohol, diet pills etc...
Recently, (over the last 4 years), i have done a pretty good job at eliminating toxic factors that equal up to disaster in my life. Such as, toxic people, hobbies, thoughts etc... But the reality is, it just isn't that easy.
I am still struggling.
I broke up with my boyfriend last night because I felt like the relationship really had gone nowhere and I knew that it was because the BOTH of us had a lot focusing and growing up to do and that is almost impossible to do when you are both in need of that FOCUS on yourself in order to achieve ANY sort of achievement and change in your present life.
I felt like alcohol always had to be involved in what we did. I don't drink everyday, or really ever but when i do with him, i play catch-up. He can drink MASSIVE amounts of alcohol, and i pretty much play along with him when we're together. Over the last 1.5 years of the relationship this has ALWAYS led to a fight of some sort. And the next day, I'm hungover, and completely pissed off at myself for giving in again.
Truth of the matter is, alcohol is NOT important to me, and NOT worth it anymore. It has held me back with my boot camp success and in everything else i need to focus on. Basically, i am not prepared to use it in modesty for celebration, or taste, it is a source of self-medication. Even if it is once a week, its still a problem.
I spent the whole day just moping around and just feeling like crap from the break-up, but i also know that time alone is important. I will not make it to boot camp today, because i want to use this day and night for personal planning and getting over this downer of a mood.
But, i have a plan. I know it will be difficult, and I know i will get lonely, exhausted, negative and all those good things at one point or another, but that's why i have this blog. An outlet to share, and conquer.
I will be conducting an experiment on myself:
The short term: (6 weeks)
No alcohol
Mostly raw food intake
Boot Camp 3x a week (www.fitmommybootcamp.com)
Interval Cardio on boot camp OFF days (Tue,Thurs, sat)
No Diet coke, ONLY WATER
Get SLEEP
Fit Into THIS:
White Chinese Laundry Mini-Dress

Long Term Goal (12 weeks):
No alcohol
Raw food intake
Boot Camp 3x a week
Interval Cardio (Tues,Thurs,sat)
Outdoor activity on Sundays (hiking,biking,running,etc..)
ONLY water (no diet coke)
Get Sleep at a regular hour each night
Finish a book
Sign up for Muddy Buddy
Learn Samba ;)
Already be back in school (and stick to it!)
Drop at LEAST 15 lbs of unhealthy, yucky, drunk, insecure, useless FAT.
Celebrate =) and love life.
Hey Linda, it's gonna be hard, I know u feel alone, and things are really tough, but it's ok, it all works out with a positive attitude and HARD WORK. Anything is possible. I'll meet u in the future - xoxo Linda Feb 2010

GO AWAY NEGATIVITY!!!!!! SCREW YOU!
SO...this entry is going up A LOT later than expected. Let's just say i'm borrowing my little sister's computer for this. Let's say a little prayer for my almost deceased iPhone....
Ok. moving forward.
So sometimes we face real life situations and personal issues that can potentially RUIN our progress. This SUCKS, and this happens.
I, for example, have had a series of things pop up recently that have been driving me nuts, and changing my focus. Whether it's car issues, family stuff, relationship set-backs, and/or emotional and economical stresses...its all the same when its got you moping around in non-productivity.
We are all human, but this is CRAP!
YOU HAVE THE POWER to change the way you think, and the way you think will CHANGE the way you DO things.
A MOTIVATIONAL boost is my way of snapping myself out of it.
HEAR: Listen to music...nothing slow, or jam-packed with emotional triggers. Go for something you can dance to, run to, scream to, just make it up-beat! Picture yourself sweating the fat off to this music, and you will surely be re-charged and ready to go!
SEE: Let's face it, we all get a good amount of our motivation from other people. Singers, actors,relatives,friends... I like to see someone looking good, and evoking confidence....it makes me want to get off my ass and workout and be healthy and achieve that physical attractiveness and supreme confidence too! I like putting music videos on my ipod with healthy, fit, beautiful women who own their confidence. Also, look around! When i'm on my way to my boot camp workout,(www.fitmommybootcamp.com), I people watch. Whether it's someone jogging and doing something positive in their day, or watching a really unhealthy person stuffing french fries in their face, it's all motivation.
DO: After getting a good dose of motivation, and realizing that you would much rather be productive than let trials and tribulations CONTROL your success, GO out there and DO SOMETHING about it! Its THAT SIMPLE. And today I too will give my negative demons the one finger salute, and get my butt into my boot camp class. =)

SHORT TERM GOALS vs LONG TERM GOALS
Hola!
So I had a pretty awesome class last night with matt and the girls =)
It was my official day one towards my new short-term goal. That goal being: looking cute and feeling good about myself on Halloween. This is important to me because I was about 35lbs heavier a year ago on Halloween, and felt like total crap watching my friends have fun, while I moped around like an unsocial fat-ass. <---yes i just called myself that Oh yeah, and watching a bunch of random girls in skanky costumes hit on my boyfriend wasn't that fun either!!!
Anyway, it's a night for dressing up, having fun and taking pictures for memories...not moping around and settling for "whatever fits". I have a few weeks to meet my new short-term goal, and I know that with the bootcamp classes + eating clean and a POSITIVE MENTALITY, I will achieve this goal!
Short term goals are really important because they are achievable within a shorter period of time, and are more realistic. Let me use an example: I can use one of the following to fuel, and visualize potential success:
A) "In a few weeks, on Halloween, my goal is to lose one dress size"
OR
B) "In 8 months I want to look like a bikini model"
Ok, really? We've all had goal B pop into our heads. Did we succeed? Unless you only dedicated yourself to that ONE thing every waking moment, popped a bunch of pills, starved yourself, and occasionally binged on 7 layer nachos and ice cream cake cause you were so psycho from denying yourself SOLID food all in the name of becoming an exotic bikini model by your birthday...then YOU DID NOT SUCCEED. And by succeed I mean you didn't pack on DOUBLE what you had lost the minute you ate a sandwich in your awesome bikini.
Option A is a better goal. Not only is it a HEALTHY goal, but you get to achieve it in a shorter period of time! Now, don't get all crazy and twist my words around by trying to set a short term goal of becoming that bikini model! Keep it healthy, keep it realistic. Those two go hand-in-hand.
Keeping these short term goals will benefit your self-esteem, can help with keeping cellulite and stretch marks AWAY! (from my experience) And, will teach you how to really appreciate YOURSELF and the hard work YOU put into achieving each goal. Oh yeah, and NOT STARVING YOURSELF +OVER-EXERCISING are always a major plus for you and the people in your life because you won't become a CRAZY BEAST-WOMAN!
So set a short-term goal! And watch how amazing it feels to reward yourself with achievement more often =)
Post your goals, share comments etc...
**disclaimer: i am not a doctor or a trainer, this is all expression from experience. what you chose to do is up to you**
